We compare everyday products and explain which one fits which situation — and, just as often, when you don't need to buy anything at all.

How we work

Goods Desk is a small editorial project. For every comparison we start from a specific household problem, then narrow the field using the things you can actually verify before buying: published specifications, materials and dimensions, warranty terms, price history, and the pattern of complaints that shows up across large numbers of verified customer reviews.

We are explicit about the limits of that method. Unless a page says otherwise, our recommendations are based on research and comparison rather than long-term hands-on testing. When we haven't used something ourselves, we say so instead of inventing an experience. If we can't find enough reliable information to separate two products, we say that too.

How we choose what to cover

We write about categories where the choice is genuinely confusing: dozens of near-identical listings, unclear sizing, or specifications that don't map to how the thing gets used at home. Categories where one obvious option wins are not worth an article, so we skip them.

How we pay for it
